Tristram is an artist and curator working in the East Midlands. He uses innovative painting and installation techniques to explore late Eighteenth/early Nineteenth century references to ‘Britishness’ as found in landscapes, animal portraits, pastoral scenes and wallpaper designs. His images bring these icons into contact with the present – a world saturated by advertising slogans, technology and the net.
About the ABF
The ABF has been supporting artists for over 200 years. Today our aim is to enable artists to begin, develop or sustain a fully professional career.
Having identified the needs of artists and in continuing to serve the objects of the charity, we are currently partnering with academic institutions for provision of grant funding. We are therefore not responding to any grant requests from individual artists and their dependents.
The ABF provides an ideal framework for helping to sustain the arts in Britain. We believe many companies and individuals will want to help. Donations to the Fund will be channelled to provide well-considered practical help to artists in need.
