The Fund welcomes donations from institutions and individuals. We believe that in a period of financial constraint, protecting artistic talent is an investment in the future. Support for artists is essential for the continued vitality of Britain’s cultural life and international reputation.
The ABF provides help for artists with the aim of enabling them to launch, sustain or develop their careers. This is a role which began over 200 years ago in very different times. Early benefactors included Queen Victoria, Sir Robert Peel, the Duke of Wellington, Sir Thomas Lawrence and Charles Dickens. Now would be a good time to join such distinguished company.
The ABF provides a reliable and effective framework through which funds can be channelled to help individual artists of merit. We welcome relatively small donations or bequests which add to our resources and help build up income. Donations at the funerals and thanksgivings of various artists have provided much needed funds to support artists in need. Donations envelopes can be provided on request.
"For more than two hundred years the Artists’ Benevolent Fund has been supporting significant artists. Contributions, both large and small, can make an enormous difference to individuals and to artistic life in this country. Please give generously"
